FAQs

What is urgent care?
Urgent care is the delivery of medical care for non-life threatening illnesses and injuries on a walk-in basis. Cedar Crest EmergiCenter® and Airport Road EmergiCenter® provides an alternative to expensive hospital emergency rooms and is an excellent option when your family physician's office is not open.

Who treats the patients?
At Cedar Crest EmergiCenter® and Airport Road EmergiCenter®, care and treatment are provided by Board-Certified physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, and allied healthcare professionals. All EmerigiCenter providers have extensive experience in urgent care, emergency and family medicine.

What about follow-up treatment?
We will work closely with your family care physician and provide them with all of your medical reports. If you do not have a family physician we will provide you with a referral or give you the opportunity to join Dr. David Shingles' family practice.

How long will my visit take?
Prompt attention is given upon arrival. Most patients are seen in less than one hour, which is often faster than an overcrowded emergency room. Physical exams and drug screens are “fast tracked” upon arrival.

What do I need to bring with me?
Please be prepared to provide an up to date medical insurance card, current drivers license or government issued photo ID.  Claim numbers and insurance company information are needed if you are seen as a result of an MVA or work-related injury. If you take medications, bring a list of the names and dosage of the prescriptions that you currently are using.

How much does an office visit cost?
Fees are based on the level of service performed according to AMA guidelines. However, there are additional charges for medications, lab, injections, x-rays and medical supplies.  Always check with your insurance company to make sure your will be covered in our facility.

What payment methods are accepted?
The Cedar Crest EmergiCenter® and Airport Road EmergiCenter® accept most health plans. We will submit a claim for payment to your insurance company on your behalf. Payment methods include cash, personal checks, MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. We also provide an online secured payment service for your convenience.  Copays are due at the time of service as well as any outstanding balances.
